ForecastPal is published by Epicurean Digital Consultants Ltd (Company No. 16622200), registered at 30 Durham Road, Wimbledon West, London SW20 0TW, United Kingdom.
If you allow it, ForecastPal uses your device's location (approximate or precise, as you choose in Android's permission dialog) to show the weather where you are. Location is used only while you use the app; ForecastPal does not access location in the background. You can decline or revoke location access at any time in your device settings and search for cities instead.
To fetch forecasts, the coordinates of your current location or saved cities are sent over encrypted HTTPS to the weather data providers listed below. We do not operate servers that receive or store your location.
The name of the town shown for your current location is looked up on your device, using a list of places built into the app (from GeoNames, geonames.org). Your location is not sent anywhere to do this.
ForecastPal Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Google Play. Payments are processed by Google; we never see your payment details. Subscription status is managed with RevenueCat, which receives purchase information from Google Play (such as the product, purchase token, purchase and expiry dates) together with an anonymous app user identifier and basic device information, so the app can tell whether Premium is active. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address or location.
Saved cities, preferences, cached forecasts and your last known subscription status are stored locally on your device. If Android backup is enabled on your device, this data may be included in your device's Google backup. You can delete it by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
The morning forecast notification and the home-screen widget are generated on your device from forecast data. The widget refreshes its forecast directly from Open-Meteo using your main city's coordinates. If rain alerts are on, the app checks Open-Meteo's short-term rain forecast for your main city's coordinates about every 15 minutes in the background (it does not access your device's location in the background) and notifies you when rain is about to start. You can turn the morning forecast and rain alerts off in Settings or in your device's notification settings, and remove the widget at any time.
ForecastPal contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not sell or share your data for advertising.
ForecastPal relies on the following services. Each receives your device's IP address as part of any internet request, and has its own privacy policy:
ForecastPal is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We do not hold an account or profile for you. To delete data stored on your device, clear the app's data or uninstall the app. For subscription records held by RevenueCat, or any privacy question, contact us at the address below and we will help. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
By downloading, installing, or using ForecastPal, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use ForecastPal on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use.
ForecastPal is free to download and includes a free version with current conditions, hourly and 7-day forecasts, weather alerts, the widget and the morning forecast. ForecastPal Premium unlocks additional features (including the full 14-day forecast, rain radar, air quality and pollen, the activity planner and unlimited saved cities).
Premium is an auto-renewing subscription purchased through Google Play. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown in the app and in Google Play before you confirm the purchase. If a free trial is offered, you will be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Purchases are made through Google Play and are subject to Google Play's refund policies. This does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — if the app is defective, does not match its description, or is not fit for purpose, you are entitled to a remedy. For refund requests, please contact Google Play support or email us directly.
ForecastPal is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Weather data is sourced from third-party providers and we do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or reliability. Weather forecasts are inherently uncertain and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for decisions affecting safety, health, or property. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Epicurean Digital Consultants Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of ForecastPal. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
ForecastPal depends on third-party weather data APIs. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to weather data. If a provider changes, restricts, or discontinues its service, some features may become temporarily or permanently unavailable. We will make reasonable efforts to find alternative data sources.
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
